Arrests
05/28/18 Richard J. Sercander, age 25, of Highland Mills was arrested and charged with DWI, above .08% BAC, vehicular assault and leaving the scene of a serious motor vehicle accident.
05/31/18 James A. Post III age 30, of New Windsor, NY was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant.
06/04/18 A 51 yr old male from Cornwall, NY was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree.
06/05/18 Jerry Sykes, age 43, of Poughkeepsie, NY was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant.
05/06/18 Columbus T. Vann, age 38, of Newburgh, NY was arrested and charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in the 5th degree.
06/08/18 A 63 yr old male from Cornwall, NY was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree.
06/17/18 Luis Ramos, age 19 of Newburgh, NY was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Incidents
Police issue approximately 16 warnings and 29 summonses to drivers including summonses for parking at the riverfront without a permit including tickets issued during a special traffic assignment.
05/28/18 Police found a cell phone on Avenue A and phone reunited with owner.
05/28/18 Police make 1 arrest for DWI during a STOP DWI detail.
05/29/18 Police receive several reports of a baby bear running through the village and eating out of garbage cans.
05/31/18 A caller reported that someone hit the curb at the Rockwall pub and took a piece out of the cement.
06/01/18 Police and Fire Dept respond to Academy Ave for smokier a building from cooking.
06/05/18 Police take a report of a vehicle accident on Idlewild Ave.
06/06/18 Police respond to Route 9W for a car vs deer accident.
06/06/18 A person came in to headquarters with a woman’s wallet found at the village square with cash, license and credit cards. The owner was located and the wallet returned to owner.
06/06/18 Police respond to 2 Alice’s for a robbery. An arrest was made for petit larceny.
06/07/18 Police and SKFE Dept respond to Shore Rd for a transformer fire.
06/08/18 Police respond to Mountain Rd for a 1 car accident.
06/09/18 A caller reported that a group of kids were on the CSX tracks. Subjects moved along by Police.
06/10/18 Police respond to Rt 9W for a 2 car accident no injuries.
06/14/18 Police notify DPW of a tree down and blocking the roadway on Curie Rd.
