General News: Router 32 Repaving

October 10, 2017

From the office of Assemblyman James Skoufis
10/11/2017

Assemblyman James Skoufis (D-Woodbury) announced that Route 32 between the Moodna Creek Bridge and Five Corners in Vails Gate will be repaved next week, an acceleration of work that was previously slated to be done next year. This past summer, phase one of the project was completed by correcting the substantial drainage issues in the area. Since then, Skoufis has worked with the Department of Transportation to move up the resurfacing’s schedule.

“This very welcome news is the culmination of significant work and advocacy,” explained Assemblyman Skoufis. “The section of Route 32 between the bridge and Five Corners has been in a state of disrepair; this much-needed work has been a top infrastructure priority of mine and I am pleased to see it moved forward.”

Along with the Route 32 project, Skoufis secured funding and commitments this year to repair a number of roadways: Route 218 was repaved in September; rehabilitation of the Palisades Parkway will be completed by next month; Old Route 17 N/S from the edge of Woodbury through Tuxedo will be resurfaced this year; and Route 9W in Cornwall and Highlands will be repaved in the spring.
