Tom Doyle took this photo of the bird in flight at the riverfront. He writes:
"I was at the Landing and saw this hawk posted on a tree. I put a telephoto on the camera and took a couple of shots while he was on the tree and then he decided to leave. I took this shot as he lifted off. The head and body are sharp and the wings and talons are blurred from the quick motion needed to take to the air. I like the feeling of the shot as it shows the power needed for the take off."
