Name That Eagle Shot

March 08, 2009

Photographer Tom Doyle is looking for a title for this eagle portrait.   He plans to submit the photograph of the majestic bird in competitions and would like to have a good name for it.  If you have a suggestion,  please enter it in the comment field at the bottom of this page.

Tom says he took the photo a few days ago when he was out walking with his wife, Barbara.  When asked how he took the photo, he said he would be revealing his technique to students who enroll in his photography class at Mt Saint Mary's College - Desmond House - starting Saturday, March 21. The course is called The Basics of Landscape Photography and runs for six Saturdays from10 a.m. to noon.  There will be classroom and field work -- as well as homework.  The contact for enrollment is Joan McAdam or Carolyn Mundy at (845)-565-2076.

"Old Abe" or perhaps "Old Abe II". The original Old Abe was the famed mascot of the 8th Voluntary Infantry of Wisconsin during the Civil War and became the eagle on the shield of the 101st Airborne Division insignia, which of course, our Cornwall native son, General David Petraeus, once commanded.

It's a no brainer... the name should be "Fredom".
