Obituaries: Theodore Allen Riecker

THEODORE ALLEN RIECKER
April 16, 1934 – November 24, 2017
Cornwall, NY

Theodore “Ted” Allen Riecker, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 24, 2017 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY after a long illness. He was 83 years old.

The son of the late Theodore C. Riecker and Gladys W. (Simpson) Riecker, Ted was born on April 16, 1934 in Nyack, NY.

Ted met his wife Bernice while in High School and was happily married for 59 years. He was retired after working for many years in the kitchen cabinet business. He graduated from Pearl River High School and Pace University. Ted loved the outdoors and enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He was an incredible athlete and excelled at golf, high diving, basketball, baseball, football and track in High School.

Ted honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, 3rd Armored Division, stationed in Germany. He was also a Volunteer Fireman for the Pearl River Hook and Ladder Company.

Ted is survived by his beloved wife Bernice; his daughter: Tracie Riecker of Cornwall, NY; his son: Ted Riecker and his wife Catherine of Wolf Lake, NY; a grandson: Ted Riecker; a brother: Don Riecker and his wife Janice of Lake Bomoseen, VT; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6p.m. on Tuesday November 28th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29th at the funeral home. Interment will follow the Service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mountainville, NY.

Memorial Contributions in Ted’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
