Helen M. Contarino, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on November 12, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side. She was 78 years old.
The daughter of the late Henry Govier and Helen (O’Regan) Govier, Helen was born on September 24, 1939 in Manhattan, NY.
Helen was a retired National Credit Manager for Arrow Electronics in Purchase, NY.
She took great pride in loving and caring for her husband, Alfred of 58 years. Helen was the true matriarch of her family. She loved cooking and was known for her sausage and peppers. She loved zinfandel, music, bingo and dancing. She will be missed greatly.
Helen is survived by her loving husband Alfred A. Contarino; her daughters: Elaine M. (Contarino) Cannella and her husband Frank of Cornwall, NY and Leanne (Contarino) Larson and her husband Carl of Cornwall, NY; her son Brian Contarino and his wife Ellen of Seaford, NY; her bother William Govier; her sister Maureen Greenwood; and 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15th and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 16th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 17th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Middle Hope, NY.
